Making progress...

I started on my heart on Monday (11/3). However, they have asked us NOT to share our designs quite yet. :/ I have been working everyday and have made TONS of progress and taken pics along the way...only to have to wait! Gah!

So in the meantime, I can share that my design is based on the KC Current and one of their special t-shirt designs. As I was thinking about designing a heart, I looked back at previous year hearts and only 1 had been based on the KC Current. I decided to go with the KC Current because soccer has played a HUGE part in my life. I started playing in 4th grade (on boy's team because I am OLD and they didn't have strictly girl's teams back then). I played in high school - some varsity and even made the Olympic Development team my freshman year of high school. After high school I played in college for 1 year before deciding to quit and just be a student. Even after graduating, I continued to play for fun and I began to coach. I coached both boys and girls teams, (including my own kids) for 19 years.

The KC Current is an amazing team - and the stadium is the FIRST EVER stadium built for a women's sport! It makes me SO incredibly proud that Kansas City stepped up and led the way in women's sports and in "my" sport in particular!
